How to withdrawal EPF money Using The Umang app step by step

To withdraw your Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) money using the Umang app, you must link your UAN with your Aadhaar, activate your UAN, and update your bank account details in your EPFO profile first.

Step-by-Step EPF Withdrawal Process:-

  • Download and Login: Open the UMANG App Mobile Download on your smartphone. Register or log in using your mobile number and MPIN.
  • Search for EPFO: Type "EPFO" into the search bar at the top of the home screen and select the official EPFO service.
  • Access Employee Services: Tap on Employee Centric Services from the available menu options.
  • Select Raise Claim: Click on the Raise Claim option to start your withdrawal application.
  • Authenticate via UAN: Enter your 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN). Tap on Get OTP. Enter the OTP sent to your EPFO-registered mobile number and click Submit.
  • Verify Bank Account: Enter the last 4 digits of the bank account number linked to your UAN profile to verify your identity.
  • Confirm Member Details: Review your personal details displayed on the screen. Select the specific Member ID (Employer Service Details) you wish to withdraw funds from, then tap Next.
  • Provide Address: Enter your complete, current postal address details exactly as registered in your official IDs, then click Next.
  • Choose Claim Type: Under the "I Want to Apply For" dropdown menu, select your required claim type.
    1. Form 19: For full EPF settlement (only if you have left your job and been unemployed for over 2 months).
    2. Form 31: For a partial advance withdrawal (while still employed, for reasons like illness, marriage, or construction).
    3. Form 10C: For a pension fund withdrawal.

  •  Upload Check/Passbook Image: Click a clear picture or upload a scanned copy of your cancelled cheque or bank passbook. Ensure your name, account number, and IFSC code are clearly visible.
  • Final Aadhaar OTP Verification: Check the self-declaration box to accept the terms. Tap Get Aadhaar OTP. Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and click Submit

  • Once completed, you will receive a Claim Reference Number on your screen. You can use this number under the Track Claim section in the UMANG app to check your approval status. The money usually arrives in your bank account within 7 to 15 working days after EPFO approval.
